Purchases: UL, JNJ – CMCSA Put Option

This week, I have added on two of my core holdings – JNJ and UL:

 07/16/18   Bought   18 of UL @ $55.50 -1,002.95
 07/16/18   Bought   8 of JNJ @ $126.00 -1,011.95

The above buys should add safety to my portfolio, both recession proof stocks – consumer non-cyclical – long time dividend payers.

About a month ago, I had sold a put option on Comcast stock. The option expired this week with CMCSA stock trading well above the strike price I had of $30. I am now free of obligation for this transaction i.e. I get to keep the proceed of $51.52 i received for selling the put option.

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

Purchases: LOW, SBUX, T, BIP, GPC, PEP, JNJ, PG

Well and the saga continues – buy buy buy was the word in June! 🙂

I keep on continuing to add on where I see value:

PEP, PG, JNJ are core holdings for my portfolio – good value historically – I continue to build these positions.

I have added to SBUX 2 more times in June! (hint also added a few days ago – that’s for July eh eh)… price is too good to pass this opportunity I believe. SBUX is a fantastic company – maybe great growth in China! They announced closure of 150 stores which I take as pruning / weeding out the field to keep the best!

GPC and LOW are new positions for the portfolio:

  • I like the international exposure with Genuine Parts with their past/recent acquisitions of businesses. Outside of the US, they now operate in Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, France, the U.K., Germany, and Poland! Great entry yield and safe payout ratio – there may well be nice growth in the future too.
  • I always try to mix lower yield/high growth dividend stocks with higher yield/slower growth ones – LOW falls into high growth with a 20% plus growth rate (5 years). It is very safe with a payout ratio of about 36% which should keep the dividend safe for many years to come.

Grabbed a few more AT&T (T) since I am rather low in the telco sector. Minimal growth, but great yield. We’ll see…

BIP (Brookfield Infrastructure Partners) is a MLP I am trying to add slowly. Great international diversification – It is directly involved in multiple global infrastructure investments across the globe. Great dividend payer.

What do you think of these purchases?

Here are my latest June additions:

 06/28/18   Bought   20 of PG @ $77.73 -1,558.55
 06/28/18   Bought   9 of JNJ @ $121.86 -1,100.69
 06/28/18   Bought   10 of PEP @ $108.34 -1,087.35
 06/28/18   Bought   20 of SBUX @ $49.40 -991.95
 06/25/18   Bought   22 of GPC @ $92.72 -2,043.79
 06/19/18   Bought   30 of BIP @ $38.87 -1,170.05
 06/13/18   Bought   30 of T @ $33.00 -993.95
 06/13/18   Bought   20 of SBUX @ $56.51 -1,134.15
 06/13/18   Bought   15 of LOW @ $100.60 -1,512.95

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

Purchases: DIS, SBUX, TXN, PG, PEP, WBA and LEG

I have been adding quite a few more shares across my portfolio since my last purchases!

I added more of these stocks which are currently priced closed to their 52 weeks low (SBUX, PEP, PG) but also on other stocks which I had purchased several years ago, and where the income contribution overall was low in relation to other stocks income in my holdings. Thes stocks are DIS, SBUX, WBA and LEG. Special thanks to Bert for actually posting his own purchase of LEG stock, and making me realize how the stock was a good purchase move at the moment. I already owned a few shares of the stock, but I am happy to have added more!

Here are my new additions:

 05/24/18   Bought   8 of DIS @ $102.80 -826.35
 05/24/18   Bought   10 of SBUX @ $57.44 -578.35
 05/24/18   Bought   2 of TXN @ $110.99 -225.93

 05/25/18   Bought   6 of PG @ $73.88  -447.23
 05/25/18   Bought   5 of PEP @ $100.18 -504.85

 05/30/18   Bought   20 of WBA @ $63.00 -1,263.95

06/06/18   Bought   42 of LEG @ $42.36 -1,783.07

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

Purchases: PEP, TU and CAH

Added more on 3 different stocks on Friday 05/18. Mainly was trying to grab a few shares of these stocks in my portfolio which are close to the 52 weeks low.

On 05/18:

  • Buy 4 shares of PEP for $98.00. After buying Pepsi recently earlier this month, I keep on building towards a full position.
  • Buy 10 shares of TU for $35.60. I am a bit underweight in telecom assets, so adding on Telus. Also adds on Canadian telco exposure.
  • Buy 10 shares of CAH for $54.48 / shares. Cardinal Health’s price keeps getting lower. I like the safety of the stock with a payout ratio around 35%. Growth had been ok in previous years, I hope it keeps up like this – even if I fear growth may slow down.

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

Purchases: PEP, BIP and a Sell: OHI

Since my last purchases in my brokerage account, I made a few transactions.

On 05/03:

  • Sold 70 shares of OHI for $26.54 / share. That was my entire position in Omega Healthcare Investors in this account (holding a bit in my Roth). I was starting to feel uncomfortable with the position and was fearing a potential dividend cut at some point. Better play safer – I sold all, got a few hundred loss… and moved on

On 05/07:

  • Buy 25 shares of PEP for $98.42 / share. This is a new position in the portfolio. Mostly used the money from OHI sale and some. I like the yield close to 3.7%, an ok growth and the dividend safety. A lot of dividend growth investors bought it as well since the stock price is back to spring 2016 levels (see Lanny and Bert, Young Dividend or desidividend for example).

On 05/16:

  • Buy 20 shares of BIP for $38.05 / share. Brookfield Infrastructure Partners is a MLP. This is a new position in the portfolio. I like how it holds assets from utilities, toll roads and cell towers across different regions of the world. Adds diversification.

These 1 sell / 2 purchases were done in my taxable account and were transaction free (I recently moved broker and got 60 days free transactions).

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

Purchase: GIS, BEP, BIP, PG, TXN and JNJ

Wow quite a week that was! We saw a lot of dividend stocks price coming down to interesting territories… as a result I made a few transactions:

On 04/19:

  • Buy 7 shares of GIS for $44.66 / share.
  • Buy 8 shares of BEP for $31.07 / share.

On 04/24:

  • Buy 5 shares of BIP for $41.06 / share.
  • Buy 3 shares of PG for $73.00 / share.

On 04/25:

  • Buy 5 shares of BIP for $40.75 / share.
  • Buy 4 shares of PG for $72.59 / share.

On 04/27:

  • Buy 3 shares of TXN for $102.98 / share.
  • Buy 3 shares of JNJ for $127.73 / share.

These purchases were done in my taxable account and were transaction free (I recently moved broker and got 60 days free transactions).

My dividend portfolio is updated with above new holdings.

In addition, I also invested some cash which was waiting for opportunity in my SEP IRA:

  • Buy 20 shares of KMB for $97.68 / share.
  • Buy 10 shares of MMM for $205.55 / share.

I do not have this portfolio online yet – it will be soon.
